(m) "Practice dentistry" means to:

(3)     Diagnose, treat, or attempt to diagnose or treat any disease, injury,
malocclusion, or malposition of a tooth, gum, OR jaw, or structures associated with a
tooth, gum, or jaw if the service, operation, or procedure is included in the curricula of an
accredited dental school or in an approved dental residency program of an accredited
hospital or teaching institution;

4-205.

(a) In addition to the powers set forth elsewhere in this title, the Board may:

(4)     After consulting with the Maryland Dental [Hygienists] HYGIENISTS'
Association, adopt regulations establishing continuing education requirements for
licensed dental hygienists;

4-310.

(a) (1) The Board shall place the holder of a general license to practice
dentistry or a general license to practice dental hygiene on inactive status and issue an
inactive status registration certificate to the licensee, if the licensee:

(i) [Does not meet the requirement of § 4-309(c) of this subtitle to
have practiced actively within 3 years before the license expires;

(ii)] Submits to the Board an application for inactive status on the form
required by the Board; and

[(iii)] (II) Pays to the Board the inactive status application fee set by
the Board.
