THE SECRETARY SHALL DETERMINE THE NUMBER AND LOCATION OF PUBLIC
HEALTH LABORATORIES AND MAINTAIN THOSE LABORATORIES AS NEEDED TO
PROVIDE TESTING, CONSULTING, AND REGULATORY SUPPORT OF INFECTIOUS
DISEASE, EPIDEMIOLOGY, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND REGULATORY PUBLIC HEALTH
PROGRAMS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

Insurance Commissioner - Enforcement Jurisdiction and Appeals Procedure

FOR the purpose of clarifying the power of the Insurance Commissioner to enforce the
Insurance Code against persons whose certificate of authority, certificate of
qualification, license, or registration is no longer in effect; imposing a certain
limitation on that power; conforming the appeals procedures under the Insurance
Code with those under the Maryland Rules; providing for the effective dates of this
Act; providing for the future codification of certain provisions of this Act; and
generally relating to the jurisdiction of the Insurance Commissioner over certain
persons under certain circumstances and to procedural requirements for appeals
under the Insurance Code.
