SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 48A - Insurance Code

478-I.

This subtitle shall no longer be of any force after [June 30, 1996] OCTOBER 1, 2004;
except that obligations incurred by the Association established pursuant to the provisions
of this subtitle shall not be impaired by the expiration of this subtitle and such
Association shall be continued for the purpose of performing such obligations.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:

(a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, this subtitle shall terminate on [June
30, 1996] OCTOBER 1, 2004.

(b) Obligations that the Association incurred under this subtitle are not impaired
by the expiration of this subtitle and the Association shall continue for the purpose of
performing the obligations.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 1 of this Act shall
take effect June 30, 1996.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this Act shall
take effect October 1, 1997.
