SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

Elections Laws — Publication of Election Laws

FOR the purpose of altering the requirement for the State Administrative Board of
Election Laws to publish and distribute the text of the Election Code.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 33 - Election Code
Section 25-2

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1993 Replacement Volume and 1995 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

25-2.

The text of this article, with said forms and instructions so prepared, and with other
provisions of the Constitution and laws touching the same matters, and with a proper
index thereto, shall be published by the State Administrative Board of Election Laws and
shall be distributed by it to the boards in quantities sufficient to supply [ all the judges
and other officers requiring the same] THE BOARD MEMBERS AND BOARD STAFF AND
ONE COPY FOR EACH PRECINCT IN ALL JURISDICTIONS. The expense of printing and
of necessary clerical assistance shall be paid from the treasury of the State. A price shall
be fixed by the State Administrative Board of Election Laws at which copies may be
furnished to purchasers.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1996.
