AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - Clerk to the County Commissioners

FOR the purpose of altering the title of the clerk to the county commissioners in
Frederick County to be the county manager; and generally relating to the clerk to
the county commissioners in Frederick County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 11 - Frederick County

2-1-8.

Notwithstanding Article 25, § 1 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, in Frederick
County, the clerk to the county commissioners shall be known as the [administrative
officer to the board of county commissioners] COUNTY MANAGER. Any reference in the
Annotated Code of Maryland to the clerk to the board of county commissioners shall
mean in Frederick County the [ administrative officer] COUNTY MANAGER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - Office of County Treasurer

FOR the purpose of repealing from the Public Local Laws of Frederick County certain
obsolete or unnecessary provisions relating to the office of County Treasurer,
operation of the Treasurer's office, and the collection of taxes by the Treasurer;
modifying provisions relating to the compensation, oath, and bonding requirements
of the Treasurer; eliminating certain statutory provisions relating to staff support
for the Treasurer's office; providing for the application and construction of this Act;
