(k) "Governor's Consulting Committee on the National Register of Historic
Places" means the committee that reviews nominations to the National Register under
the National Historic Preservation Act [of 1966].

(b)     "Safety glazing material" means any glazing material, such as tempered glass,
laminated glass, wire glass, or rigid plastic, which meets the test requirements of the
American National Standards Institute Standard [ANSI z-97.1-1971] ANSI Z 97.1 - 1984,
as may be amended, and such further requirements as may be adopted by the Department
of Housing and Community Development after notice and hearing, as required by Title
10, Subtitle 1 of the State Government Article, and which are so constructed, treated, or
combined with other materials as to minimize the likelihood of causing cutting and
piercing injuries resulting from human contact with the glazing material.

6-302.

(a) Each light of safety glazing material manufactured, imported, or sold for use
in hazardous locations or installed in such a location within the State of Maryland shall be
permanently labeled by etching, sandblasting, firing of ceramic material, hot-die
stamping, or by other suitable means. The label shall identify the labeler, whether
manufacturer, fabricator or installer, and the nominal thickness and the type of safety
glazing material and the fact that the material meets the test requirements of the
American National Standards Institute Standard [ANSI z-97.1-1971] ANSI Z 97.1 - 1984,
or as may be amended. The label must be legible and visible after installation.

(c)     Permanent labeling of wire glass, laminated glass or rigid plastics, that are
further fabricated after manufacture, is not required if the seller or installer of the wire
glass, laminated glass or rigid plastics, furnishes to each buyer thereof a certificate stating
that the wire glass, laminated glass or rigid plastics, meets the test requirements of ANSI
Standard [z-97.1-1971] ANSI Z 97.1 - 1984, or as may be amended.
