to replace armor according to the specifications of the manufacturer of the armor;
and generally relating to the use of protective body armor by police officers.
FOR the purpose of establishing a Protective Body Armor Fund in the Department of
State Police; establishing the uses of the Fund; providing that the Fund consists of
moneys appropriated in the State budget; providing for the application procedures
and information requested when applying for aid from the Fund; providing for the
distribution of aid from the Fund; requiring a local law enforcement agency to
provide certain matching funds; requiring a certain annual report to the General
Assembly; defining certain terms; and generally relating to the Protective Body
Armor Fund.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 41—Governor—Executive and Administrative Deportments
4-201.
(a) As used in this section:
(2) "Commission" means the Police Training Commission or officers or
employees thereof acting on its behalf.
(4) (i) "Law enforcement unit" means any governmental police force,
sheriff's department, security force or law enforcement organization of the State, county,
or municipality which has by statute, ordinance, or common law, the authority for
enforcing the general criminal laws of this State.
