Article 33 - Election Code

2-6.                                                                                                   

(c) (2) If the employees of a board are not covered by a county merit system:

(ii) The board may appoint and remove the employees in accordance
with the provisions of the State Personnel AND PENSIONS Article that govern classified
service employees.

2-11.

(a) (2) An election may not be held in an establishment that holds an alcoholic
[beverage] BEVERAGES license unless:

(i) The board determines that there is no suitable alternative place to
hold an election;

(ii) The licensee agrees not to sell or dispense alcoholic beverages
during the period beginning 2 hours before the polls open and ending 2 hours after the
polls close; and                                                                             

(iii) Where applicable, all ballots are removed from the polling place by
the board immediately following the election.

3-2B.

(f) (1) A person who provides any service' described in subsection (b) of this
section may not:                                                                                   

(i) Seek to influence an applicant's political preference or party
registration;

(ii) Display any such political preference or party allegiance; OR

(iii) Make any statement to an applicant or take any action the purpose
or effect of which is to lead the applicant to believe that a decision to register or not to
register has any bearing on the availability of services or benefits.
