Ch. 8                                       1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(iii) 1 person from the Department of State Police, to be appointed by
the Superintendent of the State Police;

(iv) the Director of the Office for [Children and Youth] CHILDREN,
YOUTH, AND FAMILIES, who shall serve as chairman of the advisory council;

(v) the President of the Governor's Youth Advisory Council or a
designee of the President from the Council;

(vi) 1 member from the State Sheriff's Association, to be designated by
the President of the Association;

(vii) 1 member from the State Chiefs of Police Association, to be
designated by the President of the Association; and

(viii) 2 members from the public at-large, to be appointed by the
Governor.

Article - Health - General

2-104.

(b) (2) (i) The Secretary shall adopt regulations, in consultation and
cooperation with local governing bodies, to govern the siting of community residences for
special populations funded by the Department, the Department of Housing and
Community Development, the Department of Human Resources, and the Department of
Juvenile [Services] JUSTICE.

(ii) Any regulations adopted shall comply with the Federal Fair
Housing Amendment Act of 1988.

8-302.

(a) (1) The State Advisory Council consists of the following 22 members:

(i) 12 individuals from the general public, appointed by the Governor;

(ii) A member of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker;

(iii) A member of the Senate appointed by the President;

(iv) As ex officio members:

1. Secretary, Department of Public Safety and Correctional

Services;

2.       Superintendent, Department of Education;

3.       Secretary, Department of Juvenile [Services] JUSTICE;

4.       Director, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration;

5.       Representative of the Governor's Executive Staff;
