question shall be placed on the ballot in St. Mary's County to canvass the opinion of
the voters on having an elected board of education; providing that the result of the
straw poll shall have no binding or legal effect; requiring the Board of Supervisors
of Elections of St. Mary's County to take certain actions; and generally relating to a
straw poll of the voters of St. Mary's County concerning whether the County shall
have an elected board of education.

And it is hereby certified that at said election, 12,263 votes were cast for the
adoption of said Chapter 378 and 1,962 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 378, the said Chapter 378 of the Acts of 1994 has therefore been ratified.

STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify that at
the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 8, 1994, an Act known
as Chapter 240 of the Acts of 1994 was submitted to the voters of Montgomery County;
said Act being as follows:

AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - Alcoholic Beverages

For the purpose of repealing the prohibition in Montgomery County on the issuance of
Class B beer, wine and liquor licenses in the municipal corporation of Kensington;
and submitting this Act to a referendum of the voters of that municipal corporation.

And it is hereby certified that at said election, 305 votes were cast for the adoption
of said Chapter 240 and 423 votes were cast against the. adoption of said Chapter 240, the
said Chapter 240 of the Acts of 1994 has therefore failed ratification.
