Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 1382.
This amended unemployment insurance bill makes retroactive to October 1, 1992, the
provision that work performed by a yacht salesperson for a licensed trader on a
commission basis is not covered employment under the unemployment insurance law.
Wages paid through September 30, 1994 for a licensed trader for payment solely by
commission can be used in determining monetary eligibility for unemployment benefits.
