(2) THE FILING OF A CITATION WITH A COMMUNITY SERVICE
COORDINATOR UNDER THIS SECTION IS NOT THE FILING OF A CITATION OR
COMPLAINT UNDER
§ 3-810 OF THIS ARTICLE.

(3) THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER SHALL SUBMIT A COPY OF THE
OFFENSE OR POLICE REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COORDINATOR WITHIN
7 DAYS AFTER THE CITATION HAS BEEN ISSUED.

(F) (1) THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COORDINATOR MAY, WITHIN 30 DAYS
AFTER THE CITATION WAS ISSUED, FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE INTAKE OFFICER
UNDER
§ 3-810 OF THIS ARTICLE IF:

(I) THE COMMUNITY SERVICE. COORDINATOR DETERMINES THAT
COMMUNITY SERVICE UNDER THIS SECTION WOULD BE INAPPROPRIATE FOR THAT
CHILD; OR

(II) THE CHILD OR THE CHILD'S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN
DOES NOT CONSENT TO THE CHILD'S PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY SERVICE.

(2) THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COORDINATOR MAY, WITHIN 120 DAYS
AFTER THE CITATION WAS ISSUED, FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE INTAKE OFFICER
UNDER
§ 3-810 OF THIS ARTICLE IF THE CHILD FAILS TO SATISFACTORILY PERFORM
THE COMMUNITY SERVICE AS REQUIRED.

(G) THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COORDINATOR SHALL PROVIDE LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS WITH:

(1) THE DATES AND TIMES WHEN THE COMMUNITY SERVICE
COORDINATOR WILL BE AVAILABLE TO MEET WITH CHILDREN WHO RECEIVE
CITATIONS; AND

(2) A CURRENT DESCRIPTION OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICE
REQUIREMENTS WHICH MAY BE IMPOSED ON A CHILD.

(H) THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COORDINATOR SHALL ASSIGN A CHILD TO A
SPECIFIC COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK SITE AND MONITOR THE CHILD'S
COMPLIANCE WITH THE DEPARTMENT'S COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS.

(I) (1) THE SECRETARY SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS NECESSARY TO
CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1, 1995.

(2) THE REGULATIONS SHALL GOVERN THE PROCEDURES TO BE
FOLLOWED BY THE DEPARTMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND SHALL
PROVIDE FOR THE FORMAT OF CITATIONS UNDER THIS SECTION.

(3) THE SECRETARY SHALL CONSULT WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICIALS IN EACH COUNTY SUBJECT TO THE PILOT PROGRAM BEFORE THE FINAL
ADOPTION OF REGULATIONS.
