It is the intent of the General Assembly that
beginning with the FY 1997 budget, the
Department of Natural Resources shall
separate appropriations for capital and
operating purposes for its programs
including the following: Program Open
Space, Waterway Improvement, Shore
Erosion Control (structural), Ocean City
Beach Maintenance and Fish Passages-
Further, the budget detail for FYs 1995 and
1996 submitted with the FY 1997 budget
shall be organized in the same way to allow
comparisons between years, as well as
actual expenditures.

The Department of Natural Resources shall
provide an annual report on the actual
expenditures of capital funds for Program
Open Space, Waterway Improvement,
Shore Erosion Control (structural). Ocean
City Beach Maintenance and Fish Passages-
Beginning with FY 1995, this report shall be
submitted to the budget committees and the
Departments of Budget and Fiscal Planning
and Fiscal Services no later than October 1
of each year for the prior fiscal year.
