Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 840.

Senate Bill 840. includes Wicomico County among those jurisdictions in which alcoholic
beverage licenses may be revoked if certain sexual activities or displays occur on the
licensed premises.

House Bill 1362, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on April
11, 1995, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign
Senate Bill 840.

AN ACT concerning

Wicomico County - Alcoholic Beverages

(Nudity and Sexual Displays)

FOR trie purpose of including Wicomico County among those jurisdictions in which
certain acts on premises licensed to sell alcoholic beverages are prohibited; making
this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating to alcoholic beverages in
Wicomico County.

(1)     Anne Arundel County;

(2)     Calvert County;
