(g) "Secretary" means the Secretary of [Licensing] LABOR, LICENSING, and
Regulation.

Before any license or permit may be issued or renewed under this article, the
applicant shall certify to the issuing authority that the applicant has paid all undisputed
taxes and unemployment insurance contributions payable to the Comptroller or the
Department of [Economic and Employment Development] LABOR, LICENSING, AND
REGULATION or has provided for payment in a manner satisfactory to the unit
responsible for collection.

Article - Business Regulation

1-101.

(f) "Department" means the Department of [Licensing] LABOR, LICENSING,
and Regulation.

(h) "Secretary" means the Secretary of [Licensing] LABOR, LICENSING, and
Regulation.

(c) "Department" means the Department of [Licensing] LABOR, LICENSING,
and Regulation.

2-101.

There is a Department of [Licensing] LABOR, LICENSING, and Regulation,
established as a principal department of the State government.

2-102.

(a) The head of the Department is the Secretary of [Licensing] LABOR,
LICENSING, and Regulation, who shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and
consent of the Senate.

2-104.

(a)     The Secretary is responsible for the budget of the Office of the Secretary and
for the budget of each unit in the Department.

(b)    The Secretary shall have a seal.

(c) (1) The Secretary is responsible for the planning of activities, programs, and
services of the Department.

(2) The Secretary may review and approve, disapprove, or modify the plans
and proposals of the units in the Department.

(d) The Secretary may investigate or hold a hearing on any complaint about the
operation of a unit in the Department and may report the findings of the Secretary to the
Governor.
