(Senate Bill 11)
AN ACT concerning
Annual Curative and Corrective Bill
FOR the purpose of generally curing previous Acts of the General Assembly with possible
title or other defects; correcting certain errors and omissions in certain articles of
the Annotated Code and in certain uncodified laws; validating certain corrections
made by the publisher of the Annotated Code; clarifying the applicability of certain
provisions of law relating to certain transfers of alcoholic beverages licenses;
requiring certain applicants for appointment or employment as a volunteer or paid
firefighter, rescue squad member, or paramedic, upon request by the State Fire
Marshal or certain designated authorities, to furnish fingerprints on a certain form
for submission to the Criminal Justice Information System Central Repository for a
criminal record check and for forwarding to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for
a national record check; repealing certain obsolete cross-references; authorizing
the Maryland Home Improvement Commission to deny a license to an applicant,
reprimand a licensee, or suspend or revoke a license if the applicant or licensee or
the management personnel of the applicant or licensee is convicted of a
misdemeanor directly related to a home improvement transaction; ratifying the
codification of certain Acts of the General Assembly; establishing certain
limitations on the number of slips permitted at a new or expanded community pier
or other noncommercial boat docking or storage facility that may be permitted in a
buffer area under certain circumstances; correcting certain cross-references in
certain articles of the Annotated Code and in certain uncodified laws; requiring a
person who is involved in a motor vehicle accident resulting in a life threatening
injury to another person to submit, under certain circumstances, to a test to
determine alcohol concentration of the person's blood or breath or to determine the
drug or controlled dangerous substance content of the person's blood; generally
relating to compulsory testing of certain persons involved in certain motor vehicle
accidents; clarifying a certain exemption under the tobacco tax; providing for the
effect and construction of certain provisions of this Act and of other Acts; making
this Act an emergency measure; and generally repealing and reenacting with or
without amendments, certain Acts of the General Assembly that may be subject to
possible title or function paragraph or other defects, in order to validate those Acts.
