AN ACT concerning
Washington County - Gaming - Regulation
FOR the purpose of repealing a provision authorizing certain bingo games in Washington
County; providing a criminal penalty for illegal operation of certain gaming devices
at certain locations; prohibiting the Board of County Commissioners from issuing
certain bingo permits after a certain date; protecting the right of certain persons or
entities to continue conducting certain bingo games; providing for the application of
this Act; making the provisions of this Act severable; making this Act an emergency
measure; and generally relating to the regulation of bingo and gaming devices in
Washington County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(a) The provisions of this section apply in the following counties:
(15) Washington County.
(b) (1) This subtitle may not be construed to make it unlawful for any volunteer
fire company or bona fide fraternal, civic, war veterans', religious or charitable
organization or corporation to conduct or hold a carnival, bazaar, or raffle for the
