Ch. 556 1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND Approved May 25, 1995. CHAPTER 556 AN ACT concerning Horse Racing - FOR the purpose of eliminating the exclusion of certain racetrack employee pension funds from paying their proportionate share of the importation costs of a race simulcast from another state into Maryland when pari-mutuel pools are commingled; requiring an employer contribution for certain health benefits for retired additional employees of the State Racing Commission; establishing creditable service for those benefits; providing for payment of the employer share of pension benefits and health insurance benefits for retirees; repealing a certain requirement that the Board of Trustees for the State Retirement and Pension System determine the eligibility of certain additional employees or agents of the State Racing Commission for membership in the Employees' Pension System; repealing a provision of law making membership in the Employees' Pension System subject to the Board's determination of eligibility for membership; providing for entitlement to eligibility service and creditable service for certain prior service; providing for payment of any unfunded liability to the Employees' Pension System; and generally relating to pensions for certain employees of racetracks and the State Racing Commission.
