AN ACT concerning
Calvert County - Authority to Create Special Taxing Districts
FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Calvert County to
establish special taxing districts in Calvert County and to lew special taxes or
assessments in those districts to pay for certain special benefits or privileges;
prohibiting the creation of a special taxing district until a certain petition of a
qualified homeowners association is received; providing for the procedures for
creation and modification of the special taxing districts; providing for unpaid special
taxes to be a lien on the real property; providing for the collection of the special
taxes; requiring that the moneys received from any special tax be spent in the
special taxing district from which collected for certain specified purposes;
authorizing the granting of funds to certain homeowners associations for certain
purposes; authorizing the County Commissioners to inspect and audit the records of
certain homeowners associations and to enter into certain agreements with a
homeowners association; providing for the effective date; and generally relating to
the creation of special taxing districts in Calvert County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 5 - Calvert County
TITLE 4. SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICTS.
4-101.
(A) (1) IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROCEDURES OF THIS TITLE, THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY ESTABLISH BY ORDINANCE SPECIAL TAXING
DISTRICTS IN CALVERT COUNTY TO FURNISH AND PROVIDE SPECIAL PRIVILEGES
OR BENEFITS TO PERSONS IN THOSE DISTRICTS.
