In this subsection, reference is made to the exceptions now codified in §
15-807 of this title. In the former law, the several exceptions were codified in
the definition of "local official".

Defined terms: "County" § 1-101

"Municipal corporation" § 15-102

(X) MEMBER OF HOUSEHOLD.

"MEMBER OF HOUSEHOLD" MEANS:

(1)     IF SHARING AN INDIVIDUAL'S LEGAL RESIDENCE, THE
INDIVIDUAL'S:

(I)      SPOUSE;

(II)     CHILD;

(III)   WARD;

(IV)   FINANCIALLY DEPENDENT PARENT; OR

(V)     OTHER FINANCIALLY DEPENDENT RELATIVE; OR

(2)     AN INDIVIDUAL'S SPOUSE, CHILD, WARD, PARENT, OR OTHER
RELATIVE, OVER WHOSE FINANCIAL AFFAIRS THE INDIVIDUAL HAS LEGAL OR
ACTUAL CONTROL.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is derived without substantive change from
former Art. 40A, § 1-201(w).

In paragraph (1)(v) of this subsection, "financially dependent" has been added
before "relative" for clarity.

In paragraph (2) of this subsection, "spouse" has been added to the list of
relatives as being included in the words "or other relative" and to make the
list parallel to that in paragraph (1).

(Y) MUNICIPAL CORPORATION.

"MUNICIPAL CORPORATION" MEANS A MUNICIPALITY GOVERNED BY ARTICLE
XI-E OF THE MARYLAND CONSTITUTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to clarify the scope of
the term "municipal corporation" as used in this title.

(Z) OFFICIAL.

"OFFICIAL" MEANS EITHER A STATE OFFICIAL OR A PUBLIC OFFICIAL.
