Ch. 471 1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND
[(h) In St. Mary's County, the County Commissioners are authorized to pay to the
clerk of the court, for the use of the library, any amount in addition to the fines imposed
and recognizances forfeited, during any given year.]
(H) (1) EACH MONTH THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR ST. MARY'S
COUNTY SHALL TRANSMIT ONE-HALF OF THE FINES AND RECOGNIZANCES
FORFEITED THAT MONTH TO THE COUNTY TO BE USED FOR THE GENERAL
PURPOSES OF THE CIRCUIT COURT LAW LIBRARY OF THE COUNTY. THE COUNTY
SHALL MAINTAIN THE FINES AND FORFEITURES IN A SPECIAL ACCOUNT TO BE
KNOWN AS THE ST. MARY'S COUNTY LAW LIBRARY FUND.
(2) THE FUND SHALL BE USED ONLY FOR THE GENERAL USE OF THE
CIRCUIT COURT LAW LIBRARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF BOOKS AND OTHER
PUBLICATIONS, LIBRARY EQUIPMENT, AND FOR OTHER NECESSARY EXPENSES, AS
DETERMINED BY THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning
Crofton Police Department - Chief of Police - Funding
FOR the purpose of requiring the Board of Directors of the Crofton Civic Association,
Incorporated, acting as administrator of the Crofton Special Community Benefit
District, to adopt rules and regulations governing the operation and conduct of the
Crofton Police Department; codifying the position of the Chief of Police of the
Crofton Police Department; providing for the appointment, removal, qualifications,
responsibilities, and duties of the Chief; providing for the funding of the Crofton
Police Department; making a technical correction; providing for the effective date
of this Act; and generally relating to the Crofton Police Department.
