CHAPTER 417
(House Bill 420)

AN ACT concerning

Charles County Code of Public Local Laws - Legalization and Technical Corrections

FOR the purpose of legalizing the 1994 edition of the Charles County Code of Public
Local Laws being. Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
published under the direction of the County Commissioners of Charles County, as
Division 1 of the Code of Charles County, Maryland, 1994, and any supplement to
this Code published under the direction of the County Commissioners of Charles
County; making stylistic and technical changes; providing for the effect of the
catchlines in that Code and in a certain Act; making this Act an emergency
measure; and generally relating to the legalization of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Charles County

Section 8-1, 37-1, 44-1, 44-2, 54-9 D, 58-1 A, 85-2, 85-3, 85-5 B, 125-4 L, and
130-1 A and C(1)

Article 9 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

(1994 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 9 - Charles County

8-1.                                             

The County Commissioners shall give public notice prior to taking any action which
may result in the sale of bonds. This notice shall be by advertisement in [one (1)] 1 or
more newspapers published or of general circulation in the county. The notice shall state
that the Board will meet in public hearing not less than [seven (7)] 7 days after the date
of publication of the notice to permit any resident of the county to appear and testify
concerning the proposed issuance of the bonds. The notice shall also state the time and
place of the meeting.

37-1.

A. (1) In this section [,] the following words have the meanings indicated [:].

(2) (I) [ELDERLY CARE - Services] "ELDERLY CARE" MEANS
SERVICES that are provided to an individual who is at least [sixty (60)] 60 years old and
in a protective, noninstitutional, home-type environment.

(II) "Elderly care" includes:

[(1)]1. Board, housekeeping services and shelter; and
