AN ACT concerning
Courts - Court Costs - Victims of Crime
FOR the purpose of requiring certain persons who have committed certain crimes to pay
certain costs to certain courts; defining certain terms; providing for the deposit of
certain collected court costs into certain funds; providing that the Maryland Victims
of Crime Fund shall be used for certain purposes to benefit certain persons;
imposing an additional court cost on persons who are convicted of certain types of
crimes; requiring that the fees collected under this Act certain fees up to a certain
amount be distributed equally between the Maryland Victims of Crime Fund and
the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund and that the remainder of the fees be
distributed to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund; defining certain terms;
prohibiting certain courts from waiving certain court costs under certain
circumstances; extending for a certain period a provision that requires a certain cost to
be imposed in certain types of cases; providing for the termination of certain
provisions of this Act; and generally relating to court costs and victims of crime.
