[(4)](7) The Sheriff of Harford County shall have the authority to
formulate and administer a plan that includes the method of supervision to use inmates
FROM THE HARFORD COUNTY DETENTION CENTER the Sheriff deems eligible and
selects to perform, under the supervision of State, county, or municipal employees, tasks
the Sheriff assigns within the county or any incorporated municipality within the county.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning

Commercial Law - Consumer Credit Reporting - Civil Penalty

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Commissioner of Consumer Credit to impose a civil
penalty for violations of certain orders of the Commissioner; establishing certain
criteria for determining the amount of such penalty; making certain stylistic
changes; and generally relating to the enforcement of consumer credit reporting
laws.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Commercial Law

14-1218.

(a) The Commissioner may:

(1)     Hold a hearing on the complaint at a time and place in this State
reasonably convenient to the parties involved;

(2)     Subpoena witnesses;

(3)     Take depositions of witnesses residing without the State, in the manner
provided for witnesses in civil actions in courts of record;

(4)     Administer oaths;

(5)     Issue orders for compliance with this subtitle; [and]
