Ch. 355

Nothing in Sections 16-25 and 16-26 shall be construed to be in conflict with the
provisions of Section 16-24 of this Article.

All revenue derived in accordance with the terms of Section 16-25 shall be kept in
a separate and distinct fund to be known as the Special Fund for Widows, and shall be
disbursed only for the purposes provided in Sections 16-25 and 16-26.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning

State Retirement and Pension System - Board of Trustees - Membership

FOR the purpose of altering the eligibility for certain elected members of the Board of
Trustees for the State Retirement and Pension System; authorizing certain
members and retirees of certain State systems to elect certain members of the
Board of Trustees; making this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating to
membership of the Board of Trustees for the State Retirement and Pension System.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - State Personnel and Pensions
Section 21-104(a)(7), (b)(1), and (d)(2)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Personnel and Pensions

21-104.

(a) The Board of Trustees consists of the following 15 trustees:

(7) two trustees who are members or retirees of THE CORRECTIONAL
OFFICERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM, the Employees' Pension System, [or] the Employees'
Retirement System, THE JUDGES* RETIREMENT SYSTEM, THE LEGISLATIVE PENSION
PLAN, THE LOCAL FIRE AND POLICE SYSTEM, OR THE NATURAL RESOURCES
PENSION PLAN, only one of whom may be a retiree of [either State system] ANY OF
THOSE STATE SYSTEMS at the time of election under subsection (b) of this section and
neither of whom may be an employee of the State Retirement Agency;
