(2) Which is a felony, as provided in § 4-301 (b)(2), (6), (7), [and] (8), (9).
AND (10) of this subtitle.

SECTION 10. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:

Article - Insurance

2-102.

(a) (1) The Commissioner shall establish divisions or sections in the
Administration, along the following lines of responsibility:

(i)     life insurance and health insurance;

(ii)    property insurance and casualty insurance;

(iii)   audit and examination;

(iv)   insurance professions; [and]

(v)     consumer affairs; AND

(VI)   INSURANCE FRAUD.

2-104.

(f) (1) The Commissioner may appoint [field] investigators, ACCOUNTANTS,
AND STATISTICIANS.

(2) As directed by the Commissioner, the [field] investigators shall
investigate, in the State, violations or alleged violations of this article, INCLUDING §
X-XXX OF THIS ARTICLE.

(g) (2) The Administration shall have:

(i) a principal counsel who is an assistant Attorney General; and

(ii) other assistant Attorneys General, INCLUDING ASSISTANT
ATTORNEYS GENERAL SPECIFICALLY ASSIGNED TO THE FRAUD
DIVISIONS DIVISION, as provided by the State budget.
Title 6. Taxes AND FEES.

SUBTITLE 1. TAXES.
6-101.

(a) The following persons are subject to taxation under this [title] SUBTITLE:

(1)     a person engaged as principal in the business of writing insurance
contracts, surety contracts, guaranty contracts, or annuity contracts;

(2)     an attorney in fact for a reciprocal insurer;
