Ch. 351 1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND
FOR the purpose of requiring that certain applications filed in District Court that request
that a statement of charges be filed against certain public school personnel for
certain alleged criminal offenses be immediately forwarded to the State's Attorney;
requiring the State's Attorney to investigate certain matters and to make certain
recommendations; prohibiting the filing of a statement of charges against certain
public school personnel for certain alleged criminal offenses unless the State's
Attorney has conducted certain investigations and made certain recommendations;
establishing that this Act may not be construed to preclude the State's Attorney
from making certain determinations regarding the filing of an information or the
convening of a grand jury; requiring that any criminal charges against certain public
school personnel for certain alleged offenses be brought in accordance with this
Act; defining a certain term, providing for the application of this Act; and generally
relating to District Court charging documents and public school personnel.

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.
(2) "Charging document" means a written accusation alleging that a
defendant has committed an offense.
