Article - Business Occupations and Professions

13-501.

(a)     A person shall be licensed as a private detective agency before the person may
engage in the business of providing security guards for hire.

(b)     (1) Except as provided under paragraph (2) of this subsection, a licensed
private detective agency may provide an individual for hire as a security guard only if the
individual is certified by the Superintendent as a private detective or as a security guard.

(2) A licensed private detective agency may provide an uncertified
individual for hire as a security guard if:

(i) 1. the private detective agency has submitted to the
Superintendent the application of the individual for certification as a security guard,
fingerprint cards, and records fee as required under § 13-502(b) of this subtitle; [and]

(ii) 2. the Superintendent has not disapproved the application [.];
AND OR

(III) (II) THE INDIVIDUAL HAS OBTAINED AND CURRENTLY
POSSESSES CERTIFICATION BY THE MARYLAND POLICE AND CORRECTIONS
TRAINING COMMISSION AS A POLICE OFFICER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.

FOR the purpose of altering the population to alcoholic beverage license ratio in Harford
County; clarifying language and structure; providing for the correction of
cross-references; and generally relating to alcoholic beverages in Harford County.

BY renumbering

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

Section 9-213(a), (b), (b-1), (c), (d), (e), (f), and (g), respectively

to be Section 9-213(b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), and (i), respectively
