AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance - Spousal Support

FOR the purpose of providing that alimony or spousal support is not deductible from
unemployment insurance benefits only under certain circumstances; and generally
relating to the payment of unemployment insurance benefits.

Section 8-808.1

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Labor and Employment

8-808.1.

ALIMONY OR SPOUSAL SUPPORT PAYMENTS MAY NOT ONLY BE DEDUCTED OR
WITHHELD FROM ANY UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS OTHERWISE
PAYABLE TO A CLAIMANT, EXCEPT THAT ENFORCED ALIMONY OF SPOUSAL
SUPPORT PAYMENTS MAY BE DEDUCTED OR WITHHELD TO THE EXTENT
AUTHORIZED BY FEDERAL LAW.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning

Criminal Background Investigations - Adults Residing in Foster Care and Child Care
Homes and Homes of Individuals Seeking to Adopt

FOR the purpose of requiring that certain adults residing in certain homes where certain
children are or may be placed obtain a criminal background investigation; and
requiring local departments of social services to reimburse certain individuals for certain
costs of obtaining a criminal background investigation,
