PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor                             Ch. 274

(F) (1) THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF
THE COMMISSION WHO SHALL
SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR A
TERM CONCURRENT WITH THE GOVERNOR'S TERM.

(2) THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COMMISSION SHALL SERVE
WITHOUT THE RIGHT TO VOTE, AND MAY NOT SERVE SIMULTANEOUSLY AS
CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMI
SSION.

(G) A MAJORITY OF THE AUTHORIZED VOTING MEMBERSHIP OF THE
COMMISSION IS A QUORUM.

(H) (1) THE MEMBERS SHALL ANNUALLY ELECT A CHAIRMAN FROM
AMONG THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.

(2) THE COMMISSION SHALL MEET AT THE TIME AND PLACE THAT THE
CHAIRMAN DETERMINES.

(I) A MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION:

(1) MAY NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION; BUT

(2) IS ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES UNDER THE
STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS AS PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET.

(J) THE COMMISSION MAY EMPLOY A STAFF AS PROVIDED IN THE STATE
BUDGET.

19-103.

(A) THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IS LEGAL ADVISER TO THE COMMISSION.

(B) THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL ASSIGN TO THE COMMISSION THE
NUMBER OF ASSISTANT ATTORNEYS GENERAL AUTHORIZED BY LAW TO BE
ASSIGNED TO THE COMMIS
SION, AND ANY ADDITIONAL ASSISTANT ATTORNEYS
GENERAL NECESSARY TO GIVE EFFECTIVE LEGAL ADVICE AND COUNSEL. THE
ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL ALSO DESIGNATE AN ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL
AS COUNSEL TO THE COMMISSION.

(C) THE COUNSEL SHALL PERFORM THE COUNSEL'S DUTIES SUBJECT TO THE
CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL. AFTER THE ATTORNEY
GENERAL DESIGNATES THE COUNSEL TO THE COMMIS
SION, THE ATTORNEY
GENERAL MAY NOT REASSIGN THE COUNSEL WITHOUT CONSULTING THE
COMMISSION.

19-104.

(A) THE COMMISSION MAY;

(1) ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS
TITLE;

(2) POSSESS AND USE A COMMON SEAL;

(3) SUE AND BE SUED IN ANY COURT;
