Obsolete reference to the Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Enforcement
Unit of the Comptroller's Office in Article 27, § 594B(g)(12).

Occurred: Obsolete style in the introductory language of Article 27, §
594B(g) occurred in Ch. 561, Acts of 1969. Obsolete reference to the
Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Enforcement Unit of the Comptroller's
Office in Article 27, § 594B(g)(12) occurred as a result of the reorganization
of the Comptroller's Office on October 12, 1993.

Noted: Obsolete style in the introductory language of Article 27, § 594B(g)
noted by the staff of the Department of Legislative Reference.

Obsolete reference to the Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Enforcement
Unit of the Comptroller's Office noted by Gerald Langbaum, Assistant
Attorney General and Counsel to the Comptroller, in a letter dated July 28,
1994.

(b) "Law enforcement officer" means any person who, in [his] AN official
capacity, is authorized by law to make arrests and who is a member of one of the following
law enforcement agencies:

(1)     The Department of State Police;

(2)     The Baltimore City police department;

(3)     The Baltimore City School Police Force;

(4)     The police department, bureau, or force of any county;

(5)     The police department, bureau, or force of any incorporated city or

town;

(6) The office of the sheriff of any county;

(7)     The police department, bureau, or force of any bicounty agency or the
University of Maryland;

(8)     The Mass Transit Administration Police Force of the Department of
Transportation, the Maryland Transportation Authority Police Force, and the Maryland
Port Administration Police Force of the Department of Transportation;

(9)     The police officers of the Department of Natural Resources;

(10)   The [Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Enforcement]
INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES Unit OF THE COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE;

(11)   Housing Authority of Baltimore City Police Force; or

(12)   The Crofton Police Department.
