(c)     These funds shall be paid to the State Treasurer who shall, upon requisition of
the Department, disburse the moneys in the Maryland Magazine Fund for the
publication, promotion, operation, and distribution of Maryland Magazine, including the
refunding, if necessary, of any subscriber's subscription, in accordance with an
appropriation of the General Assembly.

(d)     On July 1 of each year, money in the Maryland Magazine Fund in excess of
$80,000 shall be paid over to the General Fund of the State.]

Subtitle [1A.] 2. Maryland Tourism Development Board
and Advisory Committee on Tourism.

[4-1A-01.] 4-201.

(a)     In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

(b)     "Advisory Committee" means the Advisory Committee on Tourism.

(c)     "Board" means the Maryland Tourism Development Board.

[4-1A-02.] 4-202.

The General Assembly declares it to be the policy of the State to guide, stimulate,
and promote the coordinated, efficient, and beneficial development of travel and tourism
in the State so that the State can derive, to the fullest extent possible, the economic,
social, and cultural benefits that travel and tourism in Maryland generates.

[4-1A-03-] 4-203.

(a)     There is a Maryland Tourism Development Board in the Department.

(b)     (1) The Board consists of 15 members appointed as follows:

(i) 11 members shall be appointed by the Governor in consultation
with the Secretary and with the advice and consent of the Senate;

(ii) 2 members shall be appointed by the President of the Senate of
Maryland; and

(iii) 2 members shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House of
Delegates.

(2)     2 members of the Board at all times shall be members of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1 a member of the Senate of Maryland appointed by the President
and the other a member of the House of Delegates appointed by the Speaker.

(3)     A member of the Board who is a member of the General Assembly may
not vote on matters before the Board relating to the exercise of the sovereign powers of
the State.

(4)     In making the appointments, the Governor shall:

(i) Ensure that each geographic region of the State is represented;
