SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Chapter 700 of the Acts of 1987, as amended by Chapter 244 of the Acts of 1989, Chapter
174 of the Acts of 1990, Chapter 565 of the Acts of 1992, and Chapter 576 of the Acts of

1993

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1987. [It shall remain effective for a period of 8 10 years and, at the end of June
30, 1995 1997, and with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall
be abrogated and of no further force and effect.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning

Prince George's County - School Facilities Surcharge

PG 400-95

FOR the purpose of authorizing Prince George's County to impose by ordinance a school
facilities surcharge on new residential construction for which a building permit is
sought after a specified date; capping the amount of the surcharge; authorizing the
granting of a certain credit; providing that the surcharge does not apply if a
specified subdivision plan was approved before a certain date; specifying when the
surcharge is to be paid; restricting the use of revenue from the surcharge; providing
that payment of the surcharge eliminates the application of certain adequate facility
tests; providing that the surcharge may not supplant certain other funding; and
generally relating to authorization for a school facilities surcharge on new
residential construction in Prince George's County.
