AN ACT concerning

Charles County - Officers and Employees - Criminal Background Investigations

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Charles County to perform
criminal background investigations for employment purposes of applicants for
employment positions in Charles County government that involve the supervision of
minors; authorizing the County Commissioners of Charles County to adopt
regulations to implement this Act; and generally relating to the authority of the
County Commissioners of Charles County to perform criminal background
investigations.

Section 87-1 to be under the new chapter "Chapter 87. Officers and Employees"

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 9 - Charles County

CHAPTER 87. OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
87-1.

(A)     THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CHARLES COUNTY MAY PERFORM
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES OF
APPLICANTS FOR EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS IN CHARLES COUNTY GOVERNMENT
THAT INVOLVE THE SUPERVISION OF MINORS.

(B)     THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CHARLES COUNTY MAY ADOPT
REGULATIONS TO IMPLEMENT THIS SECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.
