AN ACT concerning

Somerset County -Orphans' Court - Judges' Compensation

FOR the purpose of altering the method of determining compensation for Orphans'
Court judges in Somerset County; establishing a certain amount of compensation
per day that a judge may receive for attendance upon sessions and traveling
expenses; authorizing a judge to be excused with pay a certain number of times; and
generally relating to the compensation of Orphans' Court judges in Somerset
County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(t) (1) Each judge of the Court for Somerset County shall receive [an annual
salary of $1,600 to be paid quarterly] $31 FOR EVERY DAY'S ATTENDANCE UPON THE
SESSIONS OF THE COURT.

(2)     Each judge shall also receive an [annual] allowance for traveling
expenses of [$1,560 to be paid quarterly] $30 FOR EVERY DAY'S ATTENDANCE UPON
THE SESSIONS OF THE COURT.

(3)     EACH JUDGE MAY BE EXCUSED WITH PAY TWO TIMES IN A
CALENDAR YEAR.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.
