(D) FEE.

THE EXAMINATION FEE IS $15 FOR EACH EXAMINATION.

In subsections (a) and (c)(3) of this section, the defined term "fraternal
benefit agent" is substituted for the former references to a "fraternal
insurance agent" to use the defined term.

8-452. ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION.

THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ISSUE A CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION TO
EACH APPLICANT WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 48A, § 344E(1), as it related to issuing a certificate.

The word "shall" is substituted for the former word "may" to clarify that the
Commissioner's authority is not discretionary if the applicant has complied
with the requirements of this subtitle.

8-453. SCOPE OF CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION.

A CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION AUTHORIZES THE HOLDER TO ACT AS A
FRATERNAL BENEFIT AGENT FOR A SOCIETY AUTHORIZED TO DO INSURANCE
BUSINESS IN THE STATE.
