29th day of November 1851 Before me one of the justices of the peace in
and for said County appears William Hubbard and acknowledges the
foregoing writing to be his act and Deed according to the true intent and
meaning thereof and the act of Assembly made and provided.  Witness
my hand and seal this 27th day of November 1851

Teresa Hubbard                Dorchester County to wit.  Be it remembered
   Exam.d from    65           and it is hereby certified that the following
Henry P. Hubbard adm      Bill of sale was received and recorded
of Henry Hubbard              This 1st day of December 1851.
                                          Know all men by these presence that I
Henry P Hubbard administrator of Henry Hubbard of Dorchester County
and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred
dollars current money to me in hand paid by Teresa Hubbard of
Dorchester County and state of Maryland I have granted, bargained & sold
and by these presence do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Teresa Hubbard
her heirs and assigns the following Negro Woman Maria aged about
twenty five years, slave for life, and sound in body and mind to have and to
hold the said negro woman Maria aged about twenty five years as above bargained
and sold unto the said Teresa Hubbard her heirs executors administrators and assigns
against me the said Henry P. Hubbard administrator or Henry
Hubbard my heirs executors and administrators and against all and
every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and
forever defend.  In Testimony whereof, I Henry P. Hubbard have hereto
set my hand and affixed seal this day of November eighteen hundred
and fifty one

Amanda Abbott                        Maryland Dorchester County to wit:  On the
twenty ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and fifty one personally appeared before me a Justice of the

administrator of Henry Hubbard and acknowledged the within bill of sale
to be his act and deed according to the purport, true intent and meaning
of the same, and at the same time; came before me Teresa Hubbard
