State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was from 50 Ex.d recorded on the 18.th day of June 1851, To wit: W.m Creighton & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that {Six Dol.} we William Creighton, William Rea, John R. Creighton and Jeremiah C. Wright, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Fifteen thousand dollars, current money of the United States, to be paid to the State of Maryland, which payment well and truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves and every of us, our and every of our heirs, executors and Administrators, in the whole and for the whole, jointly & severally by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 9.th day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one. The Conditions of the above Obligations are such that if the above bounden William Creighton shall well and truly discharge the duties of Treasurer of Primary Schools of Dorchester County according to law, then the above Obligation shall be void, otherwise it is to be and remain in full force & virtue in law. Hicks Be it remembered that the following Bill of Ex.d from 80 Sale was recorded on the 7.th day of July 1851, To wit: James Nicolls This Indenture made this seventh day of July in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty one, between James Nichols, of Dorchester County & State of Maryland, of the one part, and Thomas H. Hicks, of Dorchester County and State aforesaid, of the other part. Whereas the said James Nicolls owes and stands justly indebted to the said Thomas H. Hicks in the sum of two hundred & fifty dollars, current money, and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute those Delivered to Thomas H. Hicks Dec 25th 1851 |
