331. William H. Travers Be it remembered that the following Bill Exd from 65 of sale was recorded on the 16.th day of April John E. Hooper & others 1851, To wit: Know all men by these presents that we John Edwin Hooper and Maria K. Hooper, John H. Bramble and Olivia H. Bramble, of Dorchester County, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars, current money, to me ^us^ in hand paid by William H. Travers, of the same County and state aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained, sold, conveyed & transfered, and by these presents do bargain & sell, convey and transfer unto the said William H. Travers, his heirs and Assigns, all our right, title, claim, interest & demand in and to a certain Negro Boy called James Dickinson, a slave for life. To have and to hold the said Negro Boy called James Dickinson unto the said William H. Travers, his heirs and Assigns, against us the said John E. Hooper and Maria K. Hooper and John H. Bramble and Olivia H. Bramble and their heirs, and against all persons claiming by, from or under them us, unto the said William H. Travers, his heirs and Assigns, to his and their sole use and uses forever. In testimony whereof the said John Edwin Hooper and Maria K. Hooper his wife, and John H. Bramble and Olivia H. Bramble his wife, have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals this tenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifty one. Bramble his wife, and acknowledged the above Bill of sale, or instrument of writing to be their Act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned, according to the Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided. Maryland, Dorchester County ss: On this 12.th day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one, personally appeared William H. Travers, party grantee mentioned in the within & aforegoing Bill of sale, and made Oath that the consideration mentioned in the said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth.
