241 Araminta S. LeCompte Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that Ex.d from 55 the following BIll of sale was recorded on Delia Byns the 20.th day of March 1850, To wit: Know all men by these presents that I, Delia Byns, of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of Love & affection and in further consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by Miss Araminta S. LeCompte, of Dorchester County & state of Maryland, I have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Araminta S. LeCompte, her heirs & Assigns, Negro Girl Henrietta Maria aged about five years, slave for life, and sound in body and mind. To have and to hold the said Negro Girl Henrietta Maria aged about five years, as above bargained & sold, unto the said Araminta S. LeCompte, her heirs, executors, Administrators and Assigns, against me the said Delia Byns, my heirs, executors and Administrators, and against all & every other person or persons whatsoever, shall & will warrant & forever defend. In testimony whereof I, Delia Byns, have hereunto set my hand and affixed seal this 13.th day of March Eighteen hundred & fifty. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Charles Corkran Delia Byns (seal) Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On the thirteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty, personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace, in & for said County, the within named Delia Byns, and acknowledged the within Bill of sale to be her act and deed, according to the purport , true intent & meaning of the same: And at the same time came before me, Araminta S. LeCompte, within mentioned and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the consideration set forth in this bill of sale is true and bona fide, as therein set forth, according to the true intent & meaning of the Act of Assembly of 1846, Chapter 271, made & provided. Acknowledged before Charles Corkran/ Rose Ann Barnett Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Ex.d from 75 Bill of sale was recorded on the 25.th day of March 1850. Harrison D. Barnett {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that I, Harrison {one dol.} D. Barnett, of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the Natural love & affection I bear my wife Rose Ann Barnett, and for the further consideration of my said wife having joined me in a deed of the Farm on which I now life to David M. Corkran, and for the further consideration of one dollar, current money, to me in hand paid by the said Rose Ann Barnett, of the County and State aforesaid, at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said Harrison D. Barnett do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell, unto the said Rose Ann Barnett, her heirs, 1850 October 23.d Deld to Benjamin D.
