169. Henry Bibby, his heirs and Assigns, the following Negro slaves, To wit: one Negro Woman Lucy, one Negro Boy Levin, one Negro Girl Zilpha, one Negro Boy Gabriel and one Negro Boy George, as by reference to the said deed of Mortgage will more fully and at large appear And whereas the said William Robinson hath fully paid & satisfied, to him the said Henry Bibby, the above mention sum of money & interest thereon he the said Henry Bibby doth agree to execute this instrument of writing as a full release of the above named Negroes Now this Indenture Witnesseth, that the said Henry Bibby, for and in consideration of the payment of the above mentioned sum of money and the interest thereon, and for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said William Robinson at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained and sold, released, enfeoffed and confirmed, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, & sell, & release, enfeoff & confirm unto him the said William Robinson, his heirs & Assigns forever, the above mentioned Negroes. To have and to hold the above mentioned Negroes unto the said William Robinson, his heirs & Assigns, to the only proper use of the said William Robinson, his heirs & assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said Henry Bibby has hereunto set his hand and seal on the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of D. W. Tyler Henry Bibby (seal) State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered that on the nineteenth day of March 1849 personally appears before me, the subscriber, one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County and state aforesaid, Henry Bibby, and signed & acknowledged the above and within instrument of writing to be his act and deed, and delivered the same for the uses & purposes therein mentioned, according to the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided. Acknowledged before & Certified by D. W. Tyler Margaret Tindal Be it remembered that the following Bill Ex.d from 70 of sale was recorded April 7.th 1849, To wit: W. V. M. Edmondson {Stamp} Know all men by these presents {15 Cents} that I W. V. M. Edmondson of Dorchester County state of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and twenty five dollars, to me in hand paid |
