100. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond from Ex.d was recorded on the 17.th day of April 1848. Kendal Fooks & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents, that {one dol.} we Kendal Fooks, Richardson Gambrell and John B. Dean, of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland, are held & firmly bound unto the state of Maryland, in the full and just sum of two thousand dollars, current money of the United States, to be paid to the said state, or its attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals & dated this 17.th day of April 1848. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden Kendal Fooks shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable, in Election district number three in Dorchester County, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands for Collection, and shall also well & truly pay all sums of money received by him, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise of full force and virtue in law. Signed, sealed & delivered Kendal Fooks (L S) in the presence of his James Higgins Richardson x Gambrell (L S) Barzillai Slacum mark John B. Dean (L S) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 17.th day of April 1848, personally appeared before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid, James Higgins and Barzillai Slacum, and made the following Oath, To wit: "We James Higgins and Barzillai Slacum, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath that Kendal Fooks, Richardson Gambrell and John B. Dean, Obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally, in our presence, sign, seal and deliver the said Bond as their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Sworn before me on the day above mentioned.
