98 of the sum of seventy five dollars current money to me in hand paid by William Johnson of the county and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William Johnson his executors administrators and assigns one horse one stear one cow and calf six shoats two beds and furniture ware in cupboard one cart one plow one harrow two Barrels of corn and two stacks of fodder all which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the above described property above bargained and sold to the said William Johnson his executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their proper use and benefit and I the said Thomas Dawson for my self my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents unto the said William Johnson his executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of April Eighteen hundred and forty three Signed sealed and delivered Thos Dawson (seal) in presence of Saml Twilly Maryland Dorchester County to wit Be it remembered that on this fourth day of April Eighteen hundred and forty three before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the said State in and for the county aforesaid personally appeared Thomas Dawson to and acknowledged the above writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Samuel Twilley Bond state of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Ex.d from Bond was recorded on the 17th april 1843 to wit John Reed Know all men by these presents That we John Reed Cyrus Lord & William H Akers of Dorchester County are held & firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just sum of Three hundred Dollars Current money of the United states to be paid to the said State or its certain attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 17 day of april 1843 whereas the Commissioners of Dorchester County by Virtue of a supplement to the act entitled "and additional supplement to the act entitle and act to regulate ferries" have contracted |
