204. shall faithfully and diligently keep the said Ferry over Fishing creek from Meekins' Neck to Hooper's Island from day light to day light from the first of November to the first of March and from an hour before to an hour after day light for the residue of the year commencing the first day of May 1844 and ending twelve months thereafter and shall keep constantly and in good order a Boat or scow that will safely carry thru passengers and their Horses at one trip with one able bodied skilful hand to attend the said Ferry and shall not charge or receive any greater prices for ferriage than what is allowed him by law then the above obligation to be void otherwise of force signed, sealed and delivered Samuel Dunnock (seale) in the presence of his Jn.o Newton Levin x Dunnock (seale) John Muir mark Marcellus Willey (seale) State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was recorded on the from Ex.d 15.th day of April 1844, To wit: Hutcheson Byrn Know all men by these presents that we James hutcheson, John H. & Pattison Byrn, Jeremiah L. Pattison and Sam.l Harrington of Dorchester County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of three hundred dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 15.th day of April 1844. Whereas the Commissioners of Dorchester County by virtue of a supplement to the act entitled an additional supplement to an act entitled an act to regulate Ferries have contracted with the said James Hutcheson, John H. Byrn and Jeremiah L. Pattison to keep the Ferry over Slaughter Creek from the Main to where Henry Travers formerly lived * from day light to day light from the first of November to the first of March and from an hour before to an hour after day light for the residue of the ear commencing from the 10.th May 1844 and ending twelve months thereafter and shall keep constantly and in good order a scow that will safely carry four passengers and their Horses at one trip with two able bodied skilful hands to attend the said Ferry and shall not charge or receive any greater price for ferriage than what is allowed by law then the above obligation to be nul and void otherwise of force. * and agree to allow the said James Hutcheson, John H. Byrn and Jeremiah L. Pattison the sum of three hundred dollars current money for the same. Now the condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden James Hutcheson, John H. Byrn and Jeremiah L Pattison shall faithfully and diligently keep the said Ferry over Slaughter Creeke from the Main to where Henry Travers formerly lived James C.
