Occurred: Ch. 405, Acts of 1993. Section 497(d) provided that an insurer
subject to registration under § 495(d) may not pay any dividend or make any
distribution unless the insurer has notified the Insurance Commissioner of
that payment within 5 business days following declaration and at least 10 days
prior to the payment date.

(a) (1) A nonstock corporation is created, known as the "Medical Mutual
Liability Insurance Society of [Maryland,"] MARYLAND", hereinafter referred to as "the
[Society."] SOCIETY". Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, the Society has all
the power, privileges, and immunities granted by and is subject to all the provisions
imposed upon mutual insurers under the provisions of this article and the applicable
provisions of the Corporations and Associations Article.
