TITLE 35. SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLANS.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS.

35-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)     IN GENERAL.

IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B)      BOARD.

"BOARD" MEANS THE STATE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE MARYLAND
TEACHERS AND STATE EMPLOYEES SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLANS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to avoid repetition of
the words "State Board of Trustees of the Maryland Teachers and State
Employees Supplemental Retirement Plans".

(C)      SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLANS.

"SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLANS" MEANS THE DEFERRED
COMPENSATION, TAX SHELTERED ANNUITY, AND SALARY REDUCTION SAVINGS
PLANS AUTHORIZED BY THIS TITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to avoid repetition of
the words "deferred compensation, tax sheltered annuity, and salary reduction
savings plans authorized by this title".

35-102. EFFECTS OF PLANS.

(A)     IN GENERAL.

THE SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLANS ARE IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER
RETIREMENT, PENSION,. OR BENEFIT SYSTEM ESTABLISHED BY THE STATE.

(B)      EFFECT ON OTHER BENEFITS.

A DEFERRAL OF COMPENSATION UNDER ANY OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL
RETIREMENT PLANS DOES NOT REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF ANY RETIREMENT,
PENSION, OR OTHER BENEFIT PROVIDED BY LAW.
