24-406. OTHER BENEFITS.

(A)     IN GENERAL.

A MEMBER MAY BE ENTITLED TO BENEFITS UNDER TITLE 29 OF THIS ARTICLE
OTHER THAN, OR IN ADDITION TO, THE SERVICE RETIREMENT BENEFITS PROVIDED
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

(B)     BENEFITS FROM OTHER SYSTEMS PROHIBITED.

A MEMBER IS NOT ENTITLED TO RECEIVE A PENSION OR RETIREMENT
ALLOWANCE FROM ANOTHER PENSION OR RETIREMENT SYSTEM SUPPORTED
WHOLLY OR IN PART BY THE STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new language added to
provide a cross-reference to other benefits to which a member of the State
Police Retirement System may be entitled other than, or in addition to, the
benefits provided under this subtitle..

Subsection (b) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 73B, § 6-201(a), as it related to a prohibition against
a member receiving retirement benefits from another system supported by the
State.
