Subsections (b) and (c) of this section are new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 73B, §§ 2-414(d), (e), (f), and (g)(1) and
3-411(d), (e), (f), and (g)(1), as they related to the election of Selection C
(Combination formula) §§ 2-414(g)(2) and 3-411(g)(2), and, as they related
to the transfer to the pension systems, §§ 2-414(g)(3) and 3-411(g)(3).

Former Art. 73B, §§ 2-414(b) and (c) and 3-411(b) and (c) which provided for
an election of Selection A (Additional member contributions), as of certain
dates, are deleted as obsolete.

Former Art. 73B, §§ 2-414(h) and 3-411(i) are deleted as surplusage.

Former Art. 73B, § 3-411(h), which related to participation in the optional
retirement program, is deleted as unnecessary in light of the more specific
provisions in Title 30 that specify who may participate in the optional
retirement program. See, e.g., § 30-301 of this article.

22-220. SELECTION B (LIMITED COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT).

(A)     SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY TO A MEMBER WHO:

(1)      IS SUBJECT TO SELECTION B (LIMITED COST-OF-LIVING
ADJUSTMENT) ON OCTOBER 1, 1994; OR

(2)      ON OR AFTER OCTOBER 1, 1994, ELECTS SELECTION B (LIMITED
COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT) UNDER § 22-219(C) OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(B)      EFFECT OF ELECTION.

A MEMBER WHO IS SUBJECT TO SELECTION B (LIMITED COST-OF-LIVING
ADJUSTMENT) SHALL:

(1) RECEIVE AN ALLOWANCE FOR ALL CREDITABLE SERVICE AS
FOLLOWS:

(I)       FOR NORMAL SERVICE RETIREMENT AS PROVIDED BY § 22-401
OF THIS SUBTITLE;

(II)     FOR EARLY SERVICE RETIREMENT AS PROVIDED BY § 22-402
OF THIS SUBTITLE;
