(2)      EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (3) OF THIS SUBSECTION, THE
MEMBERS SHALL PAY THE COST OF THE SPECIAL DEATH BENEFITS THAT EXCEEDS
THE CURRENT RATE FOR FEDERAL OLD AGE, SURVIVORS, AND DISABILITY
INSURANCE.

(3)     THE STATE SHALL PAY THE FULL COSTS OF EACH SPECIAL DEATH
BENEFIT APPLICABLE TO EACH MEMBER WHOSE DEATH ARISES OUT OF OR IN THE
COURSE OF ACTUAL PERFORMANCE OF DUTY.

(G) PAYMENTS BY MARYLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE.

FOR AN EMPLOYEE OF THE MARYLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE WHO IS A
MEMBER OF THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM OR THE PENSION SYSTEM FOR
EMPLOYEES, THE MARYLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE SHALL PAY TO THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES THE EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS OTHERWISE REQUIRED TO
BE MADE BY THE STATE ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 73B, §§ 1-307 and 4-201(f)(2) and (3).

Subsection (b) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 73B, § 1-309(a) and (c).

Subsection (c) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 73B, § 1-308.

Subsection (d) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from the second sentence of former Art. 73B, § 4-201(e).

Subsection (e) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from the second sentence of former Art. 73B, § 2-201(d) and the third
sentence of § 4-201(g).

Subsection (f) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 73B, § 6-411(b)(2).

Subsection (g) of this section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 73B, § 1-310(a)(l).

In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to the county "where the
master serves" is substituted for the former reference to a county in which a
master "has been appointed by the circuit court for that county", for brevity.

In subsection (d) of this section, the reference to "an additional employee or
agent of the State Racing Commission" is added for clarity.

Also in subsection (d) of this section, the reference to "licensees of the State
Racing Commission" is substituted for the former reference "race tracks of
the State" to reflect the term defined in BR § 11-101.

In subsection (e) of this section, the reference to "an employee of Dorchester
County" is added for clarity.
