amount of the matching fund shall be expended for the purposes provided in this Act.
Any amount of the loan in excess of the amount of the matching fund certified by the
Board of Public Works shall be canceled and be of no further effect.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1994.

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 164.

House Bill 164 would prohibit misrepresentation of a person's age to a seller of alcoholic
beverages for the purpose of illegally obtaining alcoholic beverages.

Senate Bill 384, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 26,
1994, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 384.

AN ACT concerning

Alcoholic Beverages - Misrepresentation or False Statement of Age

FOR the purpose of prohibiting certain persons from making certain misrepresentations
or false statements to certain persons for certain purposes relating to unlawfully
acquiring alcoholic beverages; making certain technical corrections; requiring the
publishers of the Annotated Code of Maryland to correct certain cross-references;
and generally relating to offenses concerning alcoholic beverages.
